About Royal Windsor Cavaliers

Royal Windsor came to inception in 2001 I think, but we did not get our first dogs until March 2004. My husband informed me that he was going to take early retirement in 2005 when he would be 55 years old.  Oh my gosh all day to spend with him - totally indulge myself to his whims and fancies, I don't think so....I needed more..

When I lived in England we came about our first Cavalier by default.  My son Glenn was then about 6 years old and had been playing on the beach when he came home and said " Mum I have found a lost dog ".....  That was the beginning of my love affair with Cavaliers, the beginning of learning about that wonderful breed, that has now taken over my life and love.  Candy was a gorgeous Blenheim, seems her owner had fallen asleep on the beach and she had gone off to play and found Glenn.  The owner did trace us ( note I did not try to find them ) and was more than happy to give her to us.  We had Candy until we emigrated from England to Australia in 1980, she was re homed to an older couple who loved her as much as we did and passed away when she was 14 years old....

I gently broached the subject of maybe breding Cavaliers in just a small way, giving me a hobby and also helping to supplement the income that I had been used to having.  After much consideration Dale agreed to meet some Cavaliers ( he had no idea of the breed ).  We jumped right in found a breeder and went to visit.  I found the perfect girl Libby but when she was handed to me I noticed she was in season so I asked if they could keep her for three weeks until she was finished.  We had no fenced area at that time and that would give us a bit of breathing space to get ready for our new family.  Little did we know..........went and collected Miss Libby on the dot three weeks later, she was handed me again and I thought omg she is pregnant..  Well I grabbed her real quick and put her in the car, went back into the house and paid for her, got her registration etc.  I was almost going to phone them and ask them to bathe her but just presumed they would.  Thank goodness they did not or they would have noticed her advancing pregnancy.  She obviously was not just beginning her cycle but just ending when I first saw her.  I arrived home phoned Dale and told him of my suspicions  also adding that I had not had puppies for many years and could be wrong but did not think so.

Bingo three weeks later after leaving an outside kennel and coming to my bed my beautiful little girl, only 10 months old gave birth to 5 healthy, gorgeous Blenheim's - that was the beginning of Royal Windsor Cavaliers.  I must also add that the previous owners were very gracious and did all of the necessary work and I was able to register Royal Windsor's first litter, with many more to come........
